Es Rafal és un projecte de reforma i restauració d’un conjunt d’edificacions tradicionals situades en sòl rústic, en un enclavament elevat de la Serra de Tramuntana. El projecte té com a objectiu la recuperació arquitectònica, paisatgística i funcional d’una antiga finca agrària abandonada, integrant la rehabilitació de l’habitatge principal amb la restauració d’elements patrimonials i la reactivació dels sistemes agrícoles històrics. La intervenció es basa en una actuació respectuosa amb el valor patrimonial del conjunt, catalogat amb protecció parcial, preservant el volum original, les façanes, els contraforts i els elements singulars com el molí de sang fariner i el magatzem agrícola annex. La reforma aposta per l’ús de materials i tècniques tradicionals —pedra local, morter de calç, fusta i teula àrab reutilitzada— amb criteris de mínima intervenció i baixa petjada ambiental. El projecte incorpora estratègies de sostenibilitat ambiental, com la instal·lació d’energia fotovoltaica per a autoconsum, sistemes eficients de gestió de l’aigua i tractament d’aigües residuals, així com mesures d’integració paisatgística que minimitzen l’impacte visual de les noves instal·lacions. En conjunt, Es Rafal planteja una visió holística de la rehabilitació en entorn rural, on arquitectura, paisatge i activitat agrària es recuperen de manera coherent i sostenible

Es Rafal es un proyecto de reforma y restauración de un conjunto de edificaciones tradicionales situadas en suelo rústico, en un enclave elevado de la Serra de Tramuntana. El proyecto tiene como objetivo la recuperación arquitectónica, paisajística y funcional de una antigua finca agraria abandonada, integrando la rehabilitación de la vivienda principal con la restauración de elementos patrimoniales y la reactivación de los sistemas agrícolas históricos. La intervención se basa en una actuación respetuosa con el valor patrimonial del conjunto, catalogado con protección parcial, preservando el volumen original, las fachadas, los contrafuertes y los elementos singulares como el molino de sangre harinero y el almacén agrícola anexo. La reforma apuesta por el uso de materiales y técnicas tradicionales —piedra local, mortero de cal, madera y teja árabe reutilizada— con criterios de mínima intervención y baja huella ambiental. El proyecto incorpora estrategias de sostenibilidad ambiental, como la instalación de energía fotovoltaica para autoconsumo, sistemas eficientes de gestión del agua y tratamiento de aguas residuales, así como medidas de integración paisajística que minimizan el impacto visual de las nuevas instalaciones. En conjunto, Es Rafal plantea una visión holística de la rehabilitación en entorno rural, donde arquitectura, paisaje y actividad agraria se recuperan de manera coherente y sostenible.

Es Rafal is a project for the renovation and restoration of a group of traditional buildings located on rural land, in an elevated setting within the Serra de Tramuntana. The project aims to recover the architectural, landscape, and functional values of an abandoned agricultural estate, integrating the rehabilitation of the main dwelling with the restoration of heritage elements and the reactivation of historic agricultural systems. The intervention is based on a respectful approach to the heritage value of the ensemble, which is listed with partial protection, preserving the original volume, façades, buttresses, and singular elements such as the animal-powered grain mill and the adjoining agricultural storehouse. The renovation prioritizes the use of traditional materials and techniques—local stone, lime mortar, timber, and reused clay roof tiles—following principles of minimal intervention and low environmental impact. The project incorporates environmental sustainability strategies, including the installation of photovoltaic energy for self-consumption, efficient water management systems, and wastewater treatment, as well as landscape integration measures that minimize the visual impact of new installations. Overall, Es Rafal proposes a holistic approach to rural rehabilitation, where architecture, landscape, and agricultural activity are restored in a coherent and sustainable manner.
